New T-shirt Design & Sweatshirt Reorder

We love our Peter G Logo but it's not the only spirit item we want to offer!
Check it out!!
Our newly designed t-shirt
These shirts are $15 a piece and can be ordered HERE
Parents - if you sign(ed) up between November 1st through November 20th your child(ren) will be entered into a drawing to win one of five of these t-shirts!
They are the same brand as our school wide t-shirts that went home last month.
Soft, true to size and comfortable!
Our goal is to sell 50 of these, but only need 16 ordered for them to print.
We are currently at 8!

After our first order of sweatshirts came in many parents (and students) commented on how they wanted one! We heard that request and are offering a reorder.
These sweatshirts are $25 each.
They are printed on a Dark Heather Gray sweatshirt.
They do run small - a suggestion would be to order a size larger than needed.
They can be ordered HERE
These do need a minimum order of 50 to print.
If we do not hit our 50 goal, any money that was spent will be refunded to you.

Our last few weeks

The first two months of school have been packed with many things to do. In the first couple weeks of being back the teachers hosted their first 5K "Fly like an Eagle" Event, the school hosted an Emergency Preparedness Expo where the PTA held concessions to raise money and t-shirts were handed out to all students and staff members.

As those activities wrapped up our second month of school began.
We kicked it off with our Fall Fundraiser hosted by 360Fundraising. Thanks to all the efforts of our children and families, we raised over $16,000 for the PTA.
Next up our first Walk and Roll Event of the year was on October 8th - which was International Walk to School Day. We had 321 students, staff and families participate, making it our largest Walk and Roll to date!
The amazing Tumwater High School Cheerleaders joined us that morning to make the event even more memorable.
The following week began our Pie in the Face Contest.
We had jars set up in the office for 7 of our extraordinary staff members who were willing to get pied at our Fall Festival and Family Feed.
After two long weeks of counting what seemed to be endless change (no complaining here, but boy were a lot of pennies sent in!), the Festival was at our doorstep and kids and parents alike were eager to throw some pies!
A wonderful time and grand memories were made by all.
How often do you get to see your teacher or assistant principal hit in the face with a pie or be the one to do it!?
A week after our Festival was Halloween and our Student of the Month Assembly.
This assembly was a thrill because the Mariner Moose got to stop by, help hand out a few awards, prizes and take pictures with our 2nd and 5th grade classes as they had the most participants for October's Walk and Roll Event!
The kids enjoyed getting to meet the Moose and take pictures with him.
The final piece to the Student of the Month Assembly that made it complete was when Mr. Arend got his pie's in the face as he was unable to make it to the Festival the week before. The Moose gladly lent a hand in getting the pies thrown!
To end our Halloween day at school the PTA provided treat bags to all students! They included a couple pieces of candy left over from the Fall Festival and a glow stick to promote being safe later that night while trick-or-treating.
"A bit of light to stay safe on Halloween night!"

Which leads us into November!
This month we've made it through our first batch of conferences and survived! To help make the teachers days a little easier we provided them with a DIY Yogurt Bar on Tuesday and a DIY Sandwich bar on Thursday! Both were a huge hit and widely appreciated.
Now if only our set up looked that good!

In two weeks our delivery date for the fundraiser will be here which also means it's the overly exciting day that our kids who sold 15+ items will get to take a limo trip for ice cream!
Mark November 21st on your calendars!

Thank you to all who came out to our November 6th meeting!
Our next one will be held on December 4th at 6PM in the Music Room.

Our Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, December 6th between 9am and 3pm in the cafeteria. Come shop a variety of vendors while your kids get to enjoy making some crafts in our kids only craft room!

Are you keeping up with us on Facebook?

Fall Festival and Family Feed

On October 24th (this Friday!) the Peter G PTA will be hosting our 1st Fall Festival and Family Feed -
We expect this event to be a howling good time!!

We are still in need of volunteers to help run our games between 6 to 8PM. If you are able to sign up or know a high schooler who needs community service hours please forward them this link:

The family spaghetti feed will take place between 5 to 6PM. As soon as dinner is done we will be kicking off the festivities with a Monster Mash Costume Parade around the courtyard.

Much like the spring carnival there will be games throughout the classrooms, a bungee run and bounce house in the gym, bingo in the cafeteria with prizes and candy scattered throughout!

Don't forget the Pie-in-the-face contest! Who will be getting pie'd and how many pies?! Find out Friday night at 7PM!

We hope to see you there!

Parent Spirit Wear

With fall quickly approaching temperatures drop, leggings come out, boots make a come back, scarves are draped everywhere and sweatshirts become an every day essential.

Over the years spirit wear for parents at our school has been hit or miss. We order items in bulk anticipating to sell them and still have those same shirts three years later! Or, we don't order enough and end up having to place additional costly orders.

This year we are trying a different type of ordering system where we have to sell at least 50 sweatshirts for them to be printed, if 50 are not sold your money will be refunded and no sweatshirts will be made.

You can place your orders: HERE

The fun part? Not only can you order these sweatshirts in adult sizes but you can also order them in youth too! We hope to see some of those wonderful Eagles sporting these sweatshirts throughout the year, and you too parents ;)

A quick few reminders-

Please do not drop your students off at school before 825 unless you plan on staying with your student until their classroom opens up. This year there is NO before school recess which means there is no one to supervise your child before 825. We want your child/children to be safe at school and supervised at all times.

If you want to be apart of the Fall Festival Planning Committee please come on down to Peter G on September 10th at 630. We will be meeting in the music room to begin discussing and planning our fun family event.

Picture day will be September 18th

September 27th is our Fly Like an Eagle 5k for adults and 1K for kids. Check in table opens up at 8 that morning, kids run begins at 830, 5K begins at 9! $15 registration fee for adults, kids are free. For more information please check out our event page up above.

When the 5K ends we will be hosting the Thurston County Emergency Preparedness Expo from 10AM to 3PM. Again, more information can be found on our event tab.

We had a great first week back at school!

First PTA Meeting

Our Ice Cream Social and staff dinner went off without a hitch, it was quite the turnout and successful event. The only problem? It was such a whirlwind of a night between dinner, ice cream, supplies and clean up that we were left breathless by the end!
We simply cannot thank our volunteers enough for all of their help! With 11 of us present, we have a combined total of 25 hours volunteered! Now that is what we call a great start to a new year.

Our first PTA meeting will be held on Thursday September 4th, the day after school starts. You can find our agenda for this meeting under the meeting and minutes page.

This meeting is going to be packed full of information, including an update about our brand new building from the architects. They will be speaking from 6:15-6:45. This meeting will take place in the Library at 6PM and not in the music room as normal.
Site Plan Perks:
2 stories, 31 classrooms, Library with a view of Mt. Rainier, PTA room, increased security and much more.

We hope to see you there!

School Safety

As school inches closer to starting a thought that crosses many parents' minds,
"Are my children going to be safe at school?"

It's not an unreasonable fear with as many school incidents we've witnessed as a nation throughout the last few years.

Thurston County Emergency Management would like to take the time to let you know that they are starting a new
"School Hazards Program".
As more information is available about this program we will share it here with you.

In the meantime take a moment to watch this video: on
"What parents need to know about school security."
*The video opens pretty small but you have the option of making it full screen by hovering your mouse above the video
